Whole Person Librarianship: Social Work Concepts for Social Justice Library Service
Morial Convention Center Room 206
Thurs., June 21, 2018 – 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Event Code: ALA1
ALA Member: $25 – Other Member: $25 – Non-Member: $50
|In this session, we will explore systems theory, cultural humility, and reflective supervision as they apply to library practice. The presenters, a librarian and social worker, at the forefront of research into collaborative service, will provide context, and participants will have ample time to apply these concepts to examples from their own libraries and engage in guided small- and large-group conversations. Participants will come away from the session with new approaches to public service, guided by proven social work methods.|
