Professor Mary Nienow and I will be presenting our ALA preconference this Thursday …and I just realized it’s SOLD OUT! I think you can get on a wait list, but if you missed your chance to register, you are welcome to email me if you’d like to try to chat in person some other time during the conference.
Whole Person Librarianship: Social Work Concepts for Social Justice Library Service
Morial Convention Center Room 206
Thurs., June 21, 2018 – 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Event Code: ALA1
Ticket pricing:
ALA Member: $25 – Other Member: $25 – Non-Member: $50
In this session, we will explore systems theory, cultural humility, and reflective supervision as they apply to library practice. The presenters, a librarian and social worker, at the forefront of research into collaborative service, will provide context, and participants will have ample time to apply these concepts to examples from their own libraries and engage in guided small- and large-group conversations. Participants will come away from the session with new approaches to public service, guided by proven social work methods. |
Am I the only one walking across the world to get to MC 206?
